Maritime English For Nautical Studies: A Practicum Guide For The 7th Semester Students

This book mostly discusses the topic related to the use of Standard Marine Communication Phrases (SMCP) in VHF communication and the simulation of toolbox meetings onboard the ship. Those topics are fundamental for students of Maritime Polytechnics since they will become officers shortly after graduating from college.

The materials of this book are taken from various sources and presented in such a way as to make it easy for the lecturers as well as students to use this book during the teaching and learning activities. There are 14 (fourteen) topics divided into 14 (fourteen) meetings that will be completed in 1 (one) semester. Firstly, the authors provide explanations and examples regarding the topic of study. Secondly, we provide practical activities/exercises in the form of questions or scenarios that have to be completed and practiced by the students. Finally, we provide an evaluation form for each activity that can be used to assess students' performance at every meeting. We hope that this book can support the teaching and learning activities of Maritime English and give advantages to the lecturers as well as to the students.
