This visual signal module is a textbook containing procedures for communicating between ship to ship or between ship to shore in regards to the procedures both in normal and emergency situations. This module is used for of Deck Officer Class Illand DIV (Diploma IV) training participants, The contents of this module are in the following:

• method of signaling
• general instructions
• flag flashing light, hand flags or arms and sound signaling
• communication on board in normal and emergency situations
• radiotelephony

It is expected that by studying this module, the participants will be able to understand the signals during communication on board, both in normal and emergency situations, as well as the usage of radiotelephony and radiotelegraphy,
